In the process I, apparently, dug up some ants. At first they all ran around on the surface, but now they have their own ant hill and everything. I can't imagine I dug up the queen, so I guess they're just doing their own thing. Which, of course, makes sense when you look at things like ant farms. Still, it's interesting how a rogue band of ants with no queen will still do the same thing any other ant does, rather than just die. |
